Fully Synthetic Diesel Oils
AMSOIL Diesel Oil 5w-30, 5w-40, 10w-30, 15w-40 are premium Fully Synthetic diesel oils providing
long life, performance in Nissan UD and American made diesel engines. Built with heavy-duty dispersant/detergent
additives, and 12 TBN chemistry neutralizes acids and controls soot thickening from EGR and blow-by to protect
against corrosion, cylinder bore polishing (wear) and varnish/sludge deposits. amsoil Synthetic Diesel Oil Replaces
Nissan long life Synthetic, Shell Rotella, Cummins Blue and Mobile Delvac, shaeffer.
Get 3X OEM Drain recommendations up
to 1 year, 50K miles, 600hrs.
Why use Schaeffer, Mobil Delvac, Rotella, Cummins oil and change theirs at OEM recommended
drain intervals? AMSOIL Diesel oil can go 3 times recommended oil changes,
GUARANTEED ! If you can get oil for $100 a oil change and
do 3 changes per year, thats $300 plus 3 filters and 3 labor charges. Use Amsoil and its only $100,1 filter and
1 labor charge plus Superior protection. DUH! Now I dont have a degree in math but the choice is
pretty obvious. Amsoil is the better choice, bar none. We also publish our 4 ball wear test results ASTM
D-4172 on all diesel oils. See if you can find schaeffer 4 ball wear test ASTM D-4172 results or the other
competitors test results online.
Notice some brands leave out important information! We wonder why??

(2) Information was not included in manufacturer's product information sheet. Amsoil ash information from
Ed Hackett, University of NV reasearch facility.
VI: Viscosity Index--Rate of change in viscosity over a given temperature range (ASTM D-2270). Larger number
indicates lesser change.
PP: Pour Point--Fluidity at low temperatures in degrees Centigrade (ASTM D-97). The lower the number, the colder
it will flow. -24°C=-11°F; -51°C=-60°F
FP: Flash Point--Temperature at which the oil starts to vaporize in degrees Centigrade (ASTM D-92). Typically,
the PowerStroke operates at 85-110°C, but can excede 120°C. 204°C=400°F
CCV: Cold Cranking (apparent) Viscosity--Resisance at -15°C (ASTM D-2602). Lower numbers indicate easier cold
starting. (3)Delvac 1300 tested at -20°C; Series 3000 and Delvac 1 tested at -25°C.
%ASH: Percentage of sulfated ash--Residue remaining after the oil is burned. The lower the number the
better.
HT/HS: High Temperature/High Shear Viscosity--Measure of protection under high temperatures (ASTM D-4683).
Higher numbers indicate better protection.
TBN: Total Base Number (Detergent Alkalinity)--Indicates stability, engine protection and cleanliness, and
performance. Higher numbers are better
4-Ball: Four Ball Wear Scar--Measurement of wear on a spinning bearing under load and at temperature (ASTM
d-4172). Lower numbers indicate less wear. Tested at 1800 RPM/40 kg pressure/150°C for one hour. Scar diameter in
millimeters. (4)Heavy Duty 15W-40 tested at 1200 RPM/40 kg/75°C.

Diesel Fuel Additves (Cold Flow Improver,Diesel Recovery,Diesel
Fuel Additive, ect.)
AMSOIL's Synthetic Diesel Oils are inherently more thermally stable than many diesel
oils on the market and have been shown to keep turbochargers considerably cleaner than other brands of oil.
While poor quality engine oils have been shown to cause turbocharger bearing seizure in under 100 hours
during a "heat soak" test.
Many diesel oils will survive the 100 hour "heat soak" test, but..., with considerable deposits and incipient oil
passage blocking. If you use low quality diesel oils make sure you let the engine idle for a few minutes after use
to allow the engine and turbocharger to cool. This does not eliminate deposit formation but it can reduce it.
Take a look at the varnish deposits in this picture. These are the results of a severe high temperature deposit
test. This test clearly shows that AMSOIL diesel oil keeps engines cleaner longer than other major brands diesel
oils. Which oil would you rather have protecting your engine?
The bottom line: To prevent or eliminate turbocharger bearing seizure, there is no substitute for a high quality
synthetic diesel oil (like AMSOIL's) as they have been have been proven to maintain turbochargers in an almost "as
fitted" condition and significantly reduce deposit formation.
We are here to help you learn the facts and show you how you can use AMSOIL and
get a superior product and also increase the performance and add to the longevity of your Diesel plus save time and
money. Diesel trucks are excellent vehicles and exceptionally well engineered. In our opinion they are one of the
most advanced vehicles ever produced, however there are ways to make the performance and longevity even better with
AMSOIL Synthetic Lubricants.
Simply changing your diesel oil more often with average quality oil will not give you all
the benefits that AMSOIL offers:
AMSOIL has been in business since 1972 and was the first
company in the world to develop an API (Automotive Petroleum Institute) rated synthetic lubricant for automotive
applications. They coined the phrase "extended drain intervals" 35 years ago and have been on the leading edge of
technology and innovation ever since then. We have many satisfied customers using AMSOIL products in both their
commercial, trucking, fleet as well as personal, family and recreational vehicles.
